The Top 5 Restaurants near Sri KL

Friday afternoon are the times Sri KL students enjoy, it marks the end of the school week and the start of the weekends. So what better way to celebrate than to go out and have a meal with friends or you could go out alone because you don't have any friends. But with so many choices out there, which restaurant is the best? Well in this blog post, we'll be giving you some of our finest suggestions. Lets Go!

5.Pontian Wanton Noodles
On our 5th position we have Pontian Wanton Noodles. Pontian's specialty is obviously their wanton noodles ,served with crispy fried dumplings and their delicious laksa. Besides that, you can also decide what type of flavorful sauces to choose from when ordering their wanton noodles. So if you are feeling noody (moody) get it ,get it ;) and want to relax then we suggest you to try Pontian. It's prices are very much affordable and the food tastes great, but they only serve noodles there, so if you like rice on that day maybe try some place else. You can find Pontian on the row of shops just before Canadian Pre-University. Pontian said they have had 60 years of history, so why not give it a shot?

4.Asia Cafe
Wanna have a quick bite with your friends before you head home? Consider going to Asia Cafe. Asia Cafe is Klang Valley’s premier food court located at Subang Jaya’s most dense commercial center, SS15. It is surrounded by collages and shop lots making the place pretty congested during its peak hours (night time), but not to worry, we are Malaysians, parking is available at every nook and cranny. Let's skip this bread and jump to do cheese already. Asia Cafe offers an arrays of food and beverages from all over the globe that includes Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Western, and Middle Eastern Cuisines basically everything you could ever want is located here, even beer is served here. Even though the foreign cuisines like sushi aren't as good as the originals, it's definitely still worth a try. So, if you just want a drink with friends, or a quick meal, head over to Asia Cafe, we guarantee you won't be disappointed.

3.Tappers

If you're looking for some Asian Westernish kind of food, Tappers is definitely the place to go to. It's a new restaurant that opened at the start of this year, but don't be fooled folks, they have some pretty amazing dishes.I would recommend you try out their spaghetti carbonara and their hainanese chicken, both are equally tasty. Overall, their prices range from about 10 ringgit to 20 ringgit which is quite reasonable for the quality of their food. Tappers' restaurant design is soothing and simple and it really reminds me of those British Cafes. Even though their food is great, I must say their service isn't the best since they're a new restaurant. However, if you don't mind slightly bad service and feel like Asian and Western cuisine, Tappers is the place for you.

2.Pepricon café
You might have walked past this cafe and not even notice it, but be sure that you know its location now as it offers a whole different fare than your ordinary cafes especially when it comes to Italian food. Peppercorn Cafe stood the test of time as it has been operating for almost 13 years and are still standing as one of the first and I would say one of the best restaurants in its vicinity.

Peppercorn Cafe
Anyways Peppercorn Cafe serves many types of different foods like the Chicken and Mushroom Pancake with Mozzarella Cheese ,Mixed Herb Butter Grilled Chicken ,Caper and Tomato Sauce Grilled Fish and many more. Well according to the chef(Mr Chan, not Brian),he himself changes the menu once a week so that the customers don't get bored with their meals. We suggest this place to you if you are feeling pricey because this might cause a little bit more than usual but they do also offer set lunches which come at a cheaper price. The next time you have no idea what to have for lunch or dinner, try Peppercorn Cafe.
Mixed Herb Butter Grilled Chicken

1.Uncle Lim's Fried Chicken
Lim Fried Chicken
We have given this place the top spot because have you ever seen any Chinese stalls that that can dish out a simple nasi lemak meal. If you haven't then I think you should really try this place. In Subang Jaya, Lim Fried Chicken is giving fast food chains a run for its chickens. Long queues form daily at the stall, as people wait for freshly fried chicken to be eaten with the stall’s Chinese-styled nasi lemak. The secret is freshly slaughtered chicken and the perfect control of the hot oil to yield the fried chicken winner. Variety is also the spice of life, as usually restaurants only serve a limited variety of chicken thighs, drumsticks and the wings. So if I have made you hungry then just drop by Lim's Fried Chicken, it's just next to Pontian.

Little Red Riding Hood?

Once upon a time, on the edge of a big forest, there lived a young girl named Little Red Riding Hood. Her real name was Brenda but she was known as Little Red Riding Hood because of the red hoodie she wore since she was a baby.

This story of Little Red Riding Hood took place on one morning. Little Red Riding hood was playing with her cat, Mittens, on the deck of her house when her mum suddenly called her, "Honey, I want you to go over to Grandma's house with some medicine and groceries. Grandma isn't very well and she hasn't been able to get out to the shops." Little Red Riding Hood was confused, she hasn't heard from Grandma or seen her in years and suddenly her mum gets a note that Grandma is sick, how strange. But she didn't ponder too much about it and just did as her mum told her to.

Her mum prepared a basket filled with the necessities Grandma needed. Before Little Red Riding Hood left, her mum told her, "There are dangerous creatures in the woods, do not talk to anyone, just follow the path and go straight to Grandma's house." She kissed Little Red Riding Hood on her forehead, gave her the basket and sent her off. As Little Red Riding Hood entered the forest, a chill went down her spine, she had a bad feeling about this, but she couldn't keep her sick Grandma waiting. The dense forest made it almost impossible for her to see what was beyond the trees. Thank god there was a path leading straight to the other side where Grandma lived.

Little Red Riding Hood hadn't been walking for long when she heard a rustling sound in the tress. Then suddenly a voice called out, "Little girl, little girl, could you spare me a moment?". Out of curiosity, Little Red Riding Hood strayed off the path to see where the voice was coming from. It seemed to come from a dark shadow hiding behind the trees. She couldn't make out who the mysterious figure was, all she could see were two big glowing eyes and there was a weird scent of dogs. She remembered what her mum had said about talking to strangers, but the voice was calm, relaxed and reassuring. She didn't feel as scared as she was before when she heard the stranger's voice.

"Where are you going little girl?" said the mysterious figure.

"I'm going to my Grandma's house. She's not well and I'm delivering her some groceries." said Little Red Riding Hood.

"Hmmm, how kind of you young one, and where does your poor Grandma live?"
said the mysterious figure.

"Oh, she lives on the other side of this forest, beside the river." said Little Red Riding Hood in her sweetest voice while smiling angelically.

"Ahhh, what a pleasant place to live." said the mysterious figure softly, "but you mustn't keep your old Grandma waiting, off you go now dear." Little Red Riding Hood waved a hand a continued on to Grandma's house.

When Little Red Riding Hood was finally out of sight the mysterious figure popped out of the darkness. There it stood 7 feet tall, a vicious looking grey wolf, with gleaming yellow eyes. He let out a cunning smile, showing hundreds of his white knife-like teeth. Then he whispered to himself "I've found my pray." and disappeared into the darkness once more.

Little Red Riding Hood wasn't far from Grandma's house when she noticed something weird. The house was all torn down, the windows were broken, the roof had a hole in it and the grass around it seemed like it hadn't been maintained for years. Had she found the wrong house?

No it couldn't be the river was beside the house. Little Red Riding Hood had to at least check it out, she went up to the door and knocked a few times, there was no reply. She knocked again, still no answer. Upon closer inspection, she realized the door wasn't even locked, so she pushed it open gently. There was nothing but old furniture in the house, "Grandma?" she shouted, no reply, she walked through all the rooms but Grandma was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly there was a tap on her back. Little Red Riding Hood shrieked as soon as she turned around, she stumbled to the floor and tried to get away from the woman with empty eye sockets. The woman's face look as if it was rotten, her arms and legs weren't any better. She wore a tattered gray dress and held a stick in her hands.
The image of the witch was too
nasty so we got a better one...

"Looks like you've gotten my message young one, you came faster than I expected." said the woman.

"Grandma, is...that...you...?" said Little Red Riding Hood in a terrified voice.

"Grandma? Hahahahaha. Don't be pathetic, I am a witch. Your Grandma has been long dead, I have eaten her, she was quite the fat one and was able to keep me full for years, but now I'm hungry again and you'll be meeting the same fate." giggled the witch as she let out another wicked laugh. Then with a slight wave of her hand Little Red Riding Hood slowly began to lose her conscious.

When Little Red Riding Hood awoke, she found herself tied up and there was a scent of salt and pepper all over her body. She knew what had happened, the witch had seasoned her and was now ready to cook her. The witch even stuffed an apple up Little Red Riding Hood's mouth so she couldn't speak. A magical oven had appeared out of nowhere and it didn't look like it had baked any sweet muffins in it before. Little Red Riding Hood struggled with all her might but it was no use, she was tied up too tightly. She had no choice but to expect her fate.

Just as all hope was lost, the front door suddenly burst open, and muscular gray wolf came charging in towards the witch. It took out a enormous stick and smacked the witch right in the face. She flew a whole ten feet, smashing threw the old furniture and finally stopped when she hit the wall. She had passed out and the wolf took this chance to set Little Red Riding Hood free and tie the witch up. He asked Little Red Riding Hood to wait outside the house as he disposed of the witch's body. It didn't take long at all, he drew a magical circle, recited some magical words and with specific hand gestures, bright blue flames appeared out of nowhere and burnt the wicked witch along with the whole house.

The gray wolf took Little Red Riding Hood's hands and escorted her back to her home, they weren't interested to see Grandma's house burn into ashes. The journey home was quite a funny one, they told each other funny jokes, the wolf bragged about his amazing adventures and Little Red Riding Hood was more than keen to listen. Finally, they had reached the end of the forest and it was time for the wolf to go. Little Red Riding Hood turned around and looked at the big guy, she took out a flower from her basket and gave it to him. The gray wolf smiled, he picked the flower from her hand, then without another word said he disappeared back into the dark forest.

Little Red Riding Hood then ran home as fast as she could to tell her mum what had just happened. Her mum was hugged her tightly and gave her a kiss on the head as soon as she heard the story. "Thank god you're safe." she said happily as she handed over a set of spare clothes to Little Red Riding Hood for her to shower and change into. Once Little Red Riding Hood was out of sight, her mum went to the kitchen and slammed the table, whispering to herself at the same time, "Next time, next time, I'll be sure to get rid of her just like I did with Grandma."

The unforgettable Friday night

Hi! Sherman here, I should've posted this on Saturday, but Friday night really took a toll on me. I was relaxing and resting the whole of Saturday because my legs were aching, my throat was sore and my body felt so tired, but I must say the memories that night really were amazing.

Yi Wen and I hurried to shower (of course in different bathrooms) and were out in 5 minutes flat, surprisingly that's all it took to get the stench of sweat of our bodies, we were tired and our muscles were aching from the long volleyball competition which lasted the whole Friday morning and half the afternoon. Yi Wen's team came in 2nd whereas mine came in last, I was pretty bummed about it but that had to wait for another time because we were late!

I dressed up, put on my shoes and got my dancing uniform so did my friend who was carpooling with me to the dinner. We hopped into my mom's car and she drove us to the venue. Upon arrival, I could already see the other prefects finishing up the final decorations and preparing the gifts. Yi Wen went on ahead to practice his dance routine and I met up with my fellow emcee partner for the night, Hazel.

We did many mic checks and went over our scripts a couple of times while the others were doing their own final rehearsals. It was 4:30 p.m. and the VIPs were arriving in 2 hours so everything had to be set up by then. Finally after 2 hectic hours, we were ready and set to go, The Prefects' Annual Dinner 2015 was about to begin.

The arrival of the VIPs !!!!

Hazel and I, the 2 emcees for the night
The prefects greeted the VIPs one by one as the walked in. Once everyone had arrived and all were seated, it was the emcees' time to shine. We started off the event with the usual Malaysian routine by singing the national anthem. Then it was time for some speeches presented by great people.

Mr Hanif giving his inspiring speech

Dinner began shortly after, it was an all you could eat buffet. The counters were filled with Malaysian food, from mamak style mee hoon to sweet and sour chicken to the famous chinese dessert 'lin qi gang'. Dinner only lasted for about 30 mins before the performances began.

The prefects and En Aseri taking their food

YEA PREFECTS ARE THE BEST!!!

My face doesn't seem to look right....

The year 8s were up first, which means it was time for me to bless the audiences with my superb dance moves(seriously failed at doing so). The performance was great, it included a cheer, dance and even a song. WOW!

And so the event went on, me being the awesome and humorous person I am decided to crack a few puns along the way and ended up laughing at myself. Good job Sherman, good job. I even did a few weird things on stage and I'm really really embarrassed about it even right now, thank god Mr Arman, our photographer didn't catch those moments.
What an amazing face I have

As for the performances, there was a sexy dance (literally),an a cappella group showed up, there was a violin performance, more singing and for the last performance it was a multimedia presentation.
SO MANY PERFORMANCES!!!
The Sexy Dance, Probably everyone's favourite performance

But that wasn't all.... There was still a game. It was called picture charades, basically I had to draw something and the audiences had to guess it within an amount of time. I was surprised they were able to do it though, considering how bad my drawing was.

Tried to draw 1D, failed miserably

And of course what dinner would be complete without a best dressed award. But it wasn't won without any effort, the nominees had to do a dance off, all super hilarious and entertaining but there was only one winner for each category(male and female) and here they are:
Pure definition of FABULOUS
The dinner ended with a certificate giving ceremony to the previous prefect executive committee. There was also a token of appreciation given to the best prefect advisor we could ever ask for, En Aseri. Then it was time for the VIPs to take their leave.

Make way my minions *does a fabulous pose*

However the night didn't end for the prefects because it was time for photo taking and it was awesome !!!! (you can see all the pictures if you click here) I'll be posting some here.

And finally.....
My prefect family :)

I was tired, my body was aching, but the memories I gained were definitely worth all that pain. Thank you for reading. :)

This time we won't be doing a joke, instead it'll be a quote.
